We are seeking a reliable and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team on a labor hire basis. The successful candidate will contribute to the safe, efficient, and effective maintenance of plant and mechanical equipment by carrying out routine, preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Complete toolbox talks, pre-starts and daily maintenance planning.
n
Carry out preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance.
n
Maintain conveyors, ball mills, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, valves and associated mechanical equipment.
n
Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and packaged plant equipment.
n
Diagnose mechanical issues and carry out repairs to minimize downtime.
n
Assist with fabrication and basic welding where required.
n
Read and work from engineering drawings.
n




Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site safety.
n
Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Supervisor and wider operations team.
n

Requirements
n
n
Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Engineering or a related trade.
n
Previous experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, mining, quarrying, food production or a similar environment.
n
Solid knowledge of gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, valves, hydraulics, pneumatic and pumps.
n
Strong fault-finding and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
n
Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
n
Ability to work independently while also contributing to a close-knit team.
n
Ability to work flexible schedule as required by site operations.
