Major Blue Air is seeking an experienced and motivated Safety & Quality Manager to join our aviation operations in Perth, Western Australia.
n
This is a key leadership position responsible for maintaining and continually improving our Safety Management System (SMS), Quality Management System (QMS), compliance framework and operational safety culture across the organisation.
n
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, flight operations, maintenance, engineering and other operational teams to ensure Major Blue Air maintains the highest standards of aviation safety, regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

About the Role
n
As Safety & Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the organisation's safety and quality functions and ensuring effective systems are in place to identify, assess and manage operational risks.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
Managing and continuously improving the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS)
n
Monitoring compliance with CASA regulations, applicable aviation standards and company procedures
n
Conducting internal audits, safety inspections and compliance reviews
n
Managing hazard, risk and occurrence reporting and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented
n
Investigating safety incidents, hazards and non-conformances
n
Maintaining safety and quality registers, reports and compliance documentation
n
Monitoring corrective and preventative actions through to completion
n
Preparing safety and quality reports for senior management
n
Coordinating safety meetings,



risk assessments and safety initiatives
n
Developing and delivering safety awareness and compliance training
n
Promoting a strong and proactive safety culture throughout the organisation
n
Liaising with CASA and other relevant regulatory bodies where required
n
Supporting the development, review and implementation of operational policies, procedures and manuals
n
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across the organisation
n
Ensuring audit findings and compliance issues are appropriately managed and closed out
n
Providing independent safety and quality advice to management and operational teams.

About You
n
We are looking for someone who is proactive, analytical and confident working across all levels of an aviation organisation.
n
You will ideally have:
n
Previous experience in an aviation safety, quality, compliance or assurance role
n
Strong knowledge of aviation safety management principles
n
Experience working with an SMS and QMS
n
Knowledge of CASA regulations and Australian aviation requirements
n
Experience conducting internal audits and compliance inspections
n
Strong risk management and investigation skills
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n




Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
n
The ability to work independently while also building strong relationships across operational teams
n
A practical, solutions-focused approach to safety and compliance.
n
Aviation industry qualifications in safety, quality, risk or compliance
n
Previous experience within a Part 145, Part 141, Part ******* or charter aviation environment
n
Experience with aviation maintenance and/or flight operations
n
Lead Auditor or internal auditor qualifications
n
Formal risk management or safety management qualifications
n
Previous experience working with CASA surveillance, audits or regulatory requirements.
