We are looking for a senior operations leader who understands the realities of running allied health clinics — not just the commercial mechanics, but the clinical, staffing and patient-experience pressures that come with them.
Our client is a respected, growing provider of expert hand therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, with clinics across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Their clinicians treat and rehabilitate complex shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand injuries — helping patients regain movement and get back to the work, sport and life they value.
The Opportunity
This is a step up for an experienced physiotherapy or allied health operations leader ready to take on a genuine national remit. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll own the operational performance of the entire clinic network — leading and developing a team of Business Operations Managers, and shaping how the business scales across three states. If you've spent your career managing allied health clinics and are ready to move from single-site or regional oversight into a true national leadership seat — with a direct line to the CEO and visibility at Board level — this is that role.
What You'll Own
Full operational leadership across VIC, NSW and QLD clinic networks
Direct management and development of Business Operations Managers in every location
Staffing levels, clinician utilisation, workflows, KPIs and day-to-day performance across sites
Administrative operations — call performance, referral management, workflow efficiency
Consistent operational standards and processes across every state
The full lease portfolio — negotiations, renewals, market reviews, landlord relationships, bank guarantees, compliance
Scoping and standing up new clinic locations as the network grows
Supplier payments,
operational expenditure and banking approvalsCommercial, supplier and service agreements — including surgeon consulting and room-licensing arrangements
Business insurance programs and coverage across all sites
Workplace compliance — first aid, safety, regulatory obligations, test-and-tag
Organisational policy development and implementation
Reporting to the CEO, with input into Board and Partner updates
Growth and efficiency projects, including technology, AI and automation initiatives
Relationships with external stakeholders and industry bodies
Patient complaints and incidents, with a focus on quality improvement and service standards
What We're Looking For
We want to hear from senior operations managers who've built their career inside physiotherapy or allied health clinic environments and understand what it actually takes to run one well — not just the P&L;, but the clinician mix, patient flow, and referral relationships that make a clinic succeed.
You'll Bring
Proven multi-site operations leadership within physiotherapy, allied health or another clinical/service-led environment
Real commercial fluency — leases, supplier contracts, expenditure, operational reporting
A track record of tightening systems, lifting accountability and improving performance across teams
Credibility with clinicians and site managers — the ability to lead operationally without stepping on clinical judgement
A calm, structured, solutions-first approach under pressure
Sharp written communication — comfortable preparing recommendations and updates for a CEO and Board
Why This Role
This is a rare chance for a senior allied health operations leader to take full ownership of a national network — shaping how a respected, growing physiotherapy business scales, while working directly alongside the CEO on strategy, growth and patient outcomes.
