We are partnering with a large and complex Government Department to recruit an experienced Full Stack Developer for a long-term contract through to September ****.

This role will suit a strong hands‐on developer with experience delivering contemporary cloud‐native applications across front-end, back-end, integration and AWS infrastructure layers.

About the role
n
Working as part of a collaborative technology delivery team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and supporting modern applications within an AWS environment.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
Developing modern web applications using React and TypeScript
n
Building backend services and microservices using Python
n
Designing and integrating RESTful APIs using OpenAPI standards
n
Developing synchronous and event‐driven integrations
n
Building and maintaining AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK
n
Working with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, S3, DynamoDB and Aurora PostgreSQL
n
Implementing secure authentication and authorisation using OAuth 2.0, OIDC and JWT
n
Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, security and quality controls
n
Implementing monitoring, logging, exception handling and observability
n
Participating in solution design, architecture discussions and code reviews
n




Producing technical documentation and supporting knowledge transfer across the team

About you
n
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong full stack development experience and the ability to work across the complete application lifecycle.
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
5+ years' software development experience
n
2+ years' hands‐on AWS cloud development experience
n
Strong React and TypeScript experience
n
Strong Python backend development experience
n
Experience developing REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems
n
Strong hands‐on experience with AWS serverless and event‐driven architectures
n
Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS and related AWS services
n
Experience using AWS CDK for Infrastructure as Code
n
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB
n
Experience implementing OAuth 2.0, OIDC and JWT authentication
n
Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tooling
n
Strong testing, debugging and troubleshooting capability
n
The ability to work independently while collaborating with architects, technical leads and delivery teams
n
n
Experience working within large enterprise or Government environments, along with AWS certifications, will be highly regarded.
