About this role
n
Are you an engineering student with a strong interest in software development, data, technology and reporting?
n
We are inviting applications for an Undergraduate Internship Opportunity within our Data Team.
n
This Brisbane-based internship provides hands‐on exposure to software development, data pipelines, reporting and analytics within a major construction and infrastructure organisation.
n
You'll join us for 1 to 2 days per week for the remainder of the year, with the opportunity to increase to full‐time hours over the summer break. For the right person, this internship could also be a valuable first step towards a graduate position next year, subject to performance and business needs.

Responsibilities
n
n
Software Development: Assist with developing, testing and improving internal tools, scripts and applications that support business and project delivery needs.
n
Data Pipelines: Support the design, maintenance and improvement of data workflows, including data collection, cleansing, transformation and integration activities.
n
Reporting & Analytics: Assist with preparing dashboards, reports and data summaries that provide clear, accurate and useful insights for internal stakeholders.
n
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks, improve reporting accuracy and streamline how teams access and use data.
n
Documentation & Data Quality: Maintain clear documentation, version control and data quality practices to support reliable and repeatable outputs.
n
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the data team, engineering, project delivery and corporate functions to understand business requirements and translate them into practical data and technology solutions.

To be considered, you'll ideally bring
n
n
Current studies in Engineering, ideally with a focus on software, data, computer systems or a related discipline.
n
Robust interest indata and technology.
n
Strong interest in software development, data pipelines, reporting, analytics and emerging technology.
n
Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret and communicate data clearly.
n
Confidence using MS Office, particularly Excel; exposure to programming languages, databases, Power BI or similar reporting tools would be highly regarded.
n
High attention to detail, curiosity to learn and a proactive, team-first mindset.
n
Availability: 1 to 2 days per week for the remainder of the year, with potential to increase to full‐time hours over the summer break.
n
