Job Description AI Data Centre Installation Supervisor / Foreman — Multiple Positions — Sydney — 12 Month Contracts Priority Locations: North Sydney, Western Sydney, North West Sydney, Inner West Buildability Group is currently recruiting experienced Installation Supervisors/Foremen for a series of AI and High-Performance Computing (HPC) data centre deployment projects across Sydney.
With several roles available across multiple sites, this is a rare opportunity to get in early on Australia's fastest-growing infrastructure sector — the build-out of next-generation AI compute facilities.
About the role You'll oversee the end-to-end physical installation of AI/HPC infrastructure at customer and partner data centre sites — from rack-and-stack through to structured cabling, power and cooling verification, and final customer sign-off.
You'll be the person on the ground coordinating trades, subcontractors and vendors, keeping the job safe, on schedule, and built exactly to spec.
What you'll be doing Supervising field teams and subcontractors delivering rack installation, structured cabling, power and cooling works Managing daily site logistics, safety briefings, schedules and site access Reading and working from rack elevations, network diagrams and technical drawings Verifying installation quality against design documentation — cable management, grounding/bonding, PDU installation, liquid and air cooling systems Coordinating delivery logistics, inventory and pre-staging with vendors Running initial power-up,



burn-in testing and fault reporting Compiling as-built documentation and leading customer sign-off on completion What we're looking for Solid experience in large-scale data centre, HPC or critical infrastructure installations (current build or existing site upgrades) Strong understanding of rack-and-stack, structured cabling, power distribution and cooling systems (liquid and air) Proven experience leading field crews or subcontractors, with a strong safety-first mindset Comfortable reading technical drawings and producing detailed QA documentation Excellent communication skills — you'll be liaising with site teams, engineers, vendors and client stakeholders daily Willingness to be based onsite in Sydney for the length of the contract, with some remote/planning work NVIDIA-Certified Professional (AI Rack and Interconnect) or similar data centre certification highly regarded, but not essential What's on offer 12-month contract with genuine potential for extension across future projects Work at the forefront of Australia's AI infrastructure boom Sydney-based, with multiple positions currently open Competitive rate — negotiable based on experience Paid weekly on a day or hourly contract rate If this sounds like you, APPLY NOW or reach out to Buildability Group directly to discuss the available roles.
