Join our state-wide team as a Natural Resource Management Officer in a temporary flexible full-time role to 30 June ****. You will assess vegetation management applications, undertake research and analysis, provide technical advice, and contribute to sustainable land management outcomes across Queensland. Our Lands division are the stewards for 60% of the land in Queensland and we deliver a variety of land and property services across Queensland, including land and asset valuations; state land administration and on ground management surveying services; native title claims and compensation; Indigenous land services; vegetation management; place names; and government land acquisitions. As a Natural Resource Management Officer, you will be part of a passionate statewide team responsible for delivering Queensland's Vegetation Management Framework. You will contribute to sustainable land management outcomes by assessing vegetation management matters, undertaking research and analysis, and providing technical advice that supports informed decision-making across the state.
In this role, you will assess vegetation management applications, analyse complex issues, contribute to reports and briefs, maintain information systems, and interpret relevant legislation, policies and procedures. You will work closely with colleagues, government agencies, industry representatives, local authorities, community members, and Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islanders to support consistent and practical outcomes. You may also assist with reviewing work, coaching or supervising team members,
improving operational processes and contributing to the ongoing development of vegetation management systems and practices.
Success in this role comes from applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills, building productive stakeholder relationships, managing competing priorities, and delivering accurate, timely outcomes. Experience working with spatial and land-related information will be highly regarded.
