Job Description
Supply Nation's vision is of a vibrant, prosperous and sustainable Indigenous business sector in Australia.
Supply Nation is the Australian leader in supplier diversity and provides a direct business to business purchasing link between corporate Australia, government agencies and Indigenous owned businesses.
Working within the Marketing, Communications and Media team, the Junior Graphic Designer is responsible for generating artwork, branded collateral and videography to support marketing activities across a diverse range of digital platforms, social, publications, promotional tools and events – including our annual flagship event for the Indigenous business sector, Connect.
Reporting to the Senior Graphic Designer, the Junior Graphic Designer is also responsible for maintaining Supply Nation brand guidelines and managing imagery, signage and print production.
The functions of the role will continue to evolve with the needs of the organisation and our stakeholders.
Cultural leadership and advocacy
Demonstrate and uphold the organisations cultural values in all work and interactions.
Promote a culturally protected, respectful and inclusive workplace for staff, suppliers, members and other stakeholders.
Incorporate appropriate cultural practices and protocols into everyday work.
Support initiatives that strengthen Indigenous workforce participation and contribute to culturally informed ways of working.
Graphic Design & Content Development
Generate artwork and branded collateral to support marketing activities across a diverse range of digital platforms, including social media, publications, brochures, promotional tools and events.
Produce high-quality designs and graphics within allocated timeframes.
Ensure graphics are visually appealing, on-brand and meet Supply Nation's visual design standards.
Review and interpret design briefs to determine project requirements and deliver appropriate creative solutions.
Create designs using digital illustration, photo editing and layout software.
Brand Management
Ensure and support the consistent application of Supply Nation's brand guidelines across the organisation.
Provide guidance to stakeholders on the appropriate use of branding, visual identity and design assets.
Videography & Multimedia Production
Set up, shoot and edit video content using basic filming, lighting and audio techniques.
Create and edit engaging short-form video content for social media, incorporating transitions, text overlays, captions, music, sound effects and basic visual effects.
Marketing & Team Support
Contribute to the development of innovative marketing and communication initiatives, providing design advice and creative input where appropriate.
Collaborate with the Marketing, Communications and Media team to support campaigns, projects and organisational priorities.
Provide administrative and ad hoc support to the Marketing, Communications and Media team as required.
Workplace health and safety
Maintain a safe,
inclusive and culturally respectful work environment while complying with all WHS policies and procedures.
Escalate all workplace hazards, incidents or near misses in line with organisational procedures, and
implement immediate action to mitigate risks where appropriate.
Participate actively in WHS consultation processes and contribute to continuous improvement of health,
safety and wellbeing practices.
Desired Skills and Experience
Key selection criteria
Specialist knowledge and attributes
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies, cultures and issues affecting Indigenous Australians in business
Proven ability to produce artwork and marketing collateral across multiple platforms: website, social media, print, digital etc.
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work whilst adhering to deadlines
High level of proficiency in the Adobe Suite, particularly Acrobat pro, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
Demonstrated experience working with Canva
Demonstrated experience creating, editing and animating videos in Premier Pro
Experience with the Microsoft Suite, particularly Word and PowerPoint
Knowledge, skills and experience
Qualifications in Graphic Design with 2+ years creative design experience
Experience producing engaging content and templates for professional documentation/material
Strong understanding of print, layout and production requirements
Excellent eye for detail and demonstrated experience juggling multiple priorities within tight deadlines
Proven ability to proof-read copy, ensuring accuracy and version control
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, while also collaborating in a team environment
