WAGEC is investing in an organisation-wide Digital Uplift and we need an experienced IT Manager to lead our digital strategy, provide hands‐on technical leadership, and effective vendor and systems management.
Reporting to the Director of Quality and Impact, this recent role is responsible for operationalising WAGEC's technology strategy and ensuring that our technology setting is secure, reliable, fit for purpose, and aligned with organisational priorities.
Working closely with our new Digital Change Lead, the role will take ownership of WAGEC's Microsoft 365 environment and core platforms, manage technology risks, improve operational efficiency, enable innovation and our ensure technology supports safe and effective service delivery.
This is a full time contract for an initial 24 months, with potential to be permanent. The role is a SCHADS Award Level 7, based at our Redfern Head office with regular travel across our nine sites.
The core responsibilities are:
Technology Strategy and Leadership
(20%): Lead the operationalisation of WAGEC's Digital Uplift Strategy through setting the direction, priorities and governance for WAGEC's technology environment.
Systems, infrastructure, and vendor management
(30%): provide centralised management of WAGEC's technology and Microsoft environment to ensure reliability, efficiency, and value-for-money.
Data Governance and Reporting
(25%): Strengthen technology-related controls for information,



data and technology to align with secure, ethical and effective uses.
Cybersecurity and Risk Management
(20%): Own, lead and advise on risk management and safety.
ABOUT YOU
You'll have substantial experience managing complex organisational technology environments, including cybersecurity and operational resilience. You're also keen to learn from us about what we know and don't, what we need and don't need!
You're a pragmatic and service-oriented leader, with a focus on solutions that are proportionate to risk and resources. Calm and credible when responding to incidents, you'll be confident in making recommendations and collaborative with frontline staff, leaders, vendors and Board-level stakeholders. We're seeking a manager who is commercially aware, technically proficient, and committed to continuous improvement.
Ideally, you'll have qualifications and/or equivalent experience in the areas of IT, digital systems, user experience, or computer science. You'll be confident insupporting the effective use and optimisation of Microsoft 365 platforms, including SharePoint, Teams, Planner and Copilot. You'll be a solid communicator and a values-driven leader.
