About the Role
As a
Business Development Manager
, you'll be responsible for driving net revenue growth through proactive prospecting and the identification of new business opportunities across a defined Adelaide market.
You'll take ownership of the full sales process, from researching and engaging prospective clients through to conducting needs assessments, presenting tailored solutions, negotiating contracts and securing new business.
Working closely with Drake's recruitment and internal teams, you'll help translate client workforce challenges into practical solutions while building meaningful, long-term partnerships.
What You'll Be Doing
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of net-new business opportunities
Proactively prospect and engage new clients through phone, digital, networking and face-to-face channels
Identify and build relationships with key influencers and decision-makers
Conduct detailed client needs assessments to understand workforce and recruitment requirements
Develop and present tailored Drake solutions that address client needs
Lead the sales process from initial prospecting through to contract negotiation and close
Identify and support relevant RFP, RFI and competitive bid opportunities
Negotiate commercial agreements within Drake's pricing and business guidelines
Build lasting client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat and expanded business
Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity, forecasting and pipeline reporting
Represent Drake at relevant conferences, trade shows and networking opportunities
Act as a trusted adviser to clients on labour market trends, workforce challenges and Drake's broader talent solutions
What You Bring
Minimum 3 years' B2B sales experience, ideally within a service-based environment
Experience selling solutions rather than transactional products
A proven track record of prospecting, winning new business and consistently achieving sales targets
Strong experience engaging and negotiating with multiple levels of stakeholders and decision-makers
Experience with RFPs, RFIs or competitive bid processes
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand and solve client challenges
A proactive, resilient and results-driven approach
Strong organisation and pipeline management skills
Confidence using CRM systems and maintaining accurate sales activity and forecasting
A genuine ability to build meaningful, long-term client relationships
Recruitment experience is not essential.
We're open to strong B2B sales professionals from service-based industries who can demonstrate a successful track record of solution selling and recent business development.
What Success Looks Like
You'll be accountable for driving measurable new business growth, with a focus on building a sustainable pipeline, securing new contracts and converting new clients into long-term Drake partnerships.
The role has clear commercial expectations, including an annual net revenue target and consistent new business development activity.

Up to $130,000 + superannuation, depending on experience, plus commission.
