About the program
Our ITCSD Program provides support and care to children and young people with a significant disability in a home like environment. The Program aims to facilitate and support these children and young people in their journey to recovery from trauma through personalised therapeutic programs that suit their individual wellbeing and developmental needs.
About the role
The Therapeutic Specialists forms a multidisciplinary team that support the service delivery teams to achieve the best outcomes for each child/young person.
Assess and identify the therapeutic needs for individual child/young person in consultation with internal and external stakeholders in the intake, client matching and ongoing support planning processes
Develop,



deliver and support the implementation of therapeutic programs and support to suit each child/young person's needs and goals
Provide advice and training to the service delivery teams where appropriate
Review effectiveness of therapeutic programs and plans and modify them as a child/young person's needs and goals change
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve best outcomes for individual child/young person
Essential criteria
Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Allied Heath or relevant equivalent and current registration
Knowledge and experience in the provision of assessment, consultation and therapeutic interventions for a broad range of vulnerable children or young people
Ability to conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and formulate therapeutic, support and intervention plans
Understanding of key risk factors and the effect of trauma on childhood development
Understanding of the impact of grief and loss in children and young people
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient computer skills
Current NSW Driver's Licence and a willingness to travel as required
A current Working with Children Check and a satisfactory criminal history record check
Desirable skills/knowledge
Experience in working with children and young people in an accommodation setting
An understanding of the NDIS framework
Remuneration
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHADS) Award ****, Level 6.
