About the Role
This exciting role available due to promotion holds full accountability for the state's metropolitan region: a $100M+ multisite portfolio with a team of 120+, and a small number of site leaders reporting directly.
This is the region that matters most in the state. It carries the largest concentration of national account exposure in Queensland, with the majority of work performed under national and key account contracts. Several significant renewals fall due over the next 12 months, giving the incoming leader real influence over the commercial shape of the business for years ahead.
Most of the portfolio is performing strongly and has a solid track record of delivering budget. One part of it has underperformed for close to two years and represents a clear, well-defined turnaround. The prospect is a genuinely balanced one: scale and strengthen what is working, own and fix what isn't, and be visible to executive leadership for both.

Key Responsibilities
In the first 12 months, you will:
Return the underperforming site to budget,



addressing capability, culture and operating discipline rather than treating the symptoms
Protect and grow margin across the portfolio through disciplined decisions on labour, fleet, cost base and service mix
Partner with and influence sales and commercial teams on tender modelling, pricing and service design for major upcoming renewals
Lift service performance against national and key account KPIs to a consistent standard, with causes understood and controls owned at site level
Build genuine leadership depth beneath you, with credible succession at site leader and supervisor level
About You
You are a commercially sharp operational leader who is genuinely comfortable in the detail, both in the spreadsheets, in the models, and in the P&L.; You know how revenue, cost, margin, capital and service mix fit together, and you can tell the difference between work worth winning and work that will cost you for five years.
Essential:
Proven full P&L; ownership at a regional, state or multisite level, with measurable improvement you can evidence
Demonstrated ability to turn around an underperforming operation, or drive significant improvements in previous roles
Ability to lift the capability of a site leadership team.



You can point to supervisors and managers you developed into their next role, and to the succession depth you left behind
Proven ability to influence and drive results through teams / stakeholders that don't report to you
A background in an industrial, process-driven, metrics-led business
Highly regarded:
Experience leading across both sales and operations
Transport or logistics exposure, including heavy vehicle and chain of responsibility compliance and fleet return metrics
