Chance created due to ongoing growthThe CompanyParagon Talent Solutions, a boutique recruitment organisation specialising in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering and Operational Technology, has been engaged to assist a growing systems integration business delivering electrical and control system solutions across manufacturing, food & beverage, data centres and other industrial sectors.Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Electrical & Controls Estimator to join their Melbourne team.Working closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers and clients, you'll prepare accurate estimates, develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), source supplier pricing, support procurement activities and help enhance the company's in-house estimating tools and pricing database.The PositionResponsibilities as the Electrical & Controls Estimator include:Preparing estimates, quotations, bids and technical proposalsReviewing tender documentation, drawings and specificationsDeveloping Bills of Materials (BOMs), material take-offs and pricing schedulesSourcing supplier pricing and supporting procurement activitiesDeveloping and maintaining the company's estimating database, Excel pricing tools and in-house pricing modelsLiaising with engineers, project managers and suppliers throughout the tender processIdentifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunitiesSupporting tender submissions from enquiry through to project awardThis is an exciting time to join the business as they continue to secure new projects and expand their operations.




The position would suit an engineering or trade-qualified professional who enjoys technical estimating, has exceptional attention to detail and is looking to play a key role in developing the company's estimating, proposals and procurement function.Your ExperienceTo be considered for this position, you'll ideally come from an industrial electrical contractor, systems integrator, OEM or similar environment and possess:Previous experience in estimating, tendering, bid management, proposals, procurement or pre-contracts within industrial electrical, instrumentation or automation projectsStrong understanding of industrial electrical installationsExperience developing and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs)Experience sourcing materials and liaising with suppliers throughout the procurement processKnowledge of control systems, PLCs, SCADA, industrial instrumentation, electrical cabling and containment systemsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to develop pricing models, estimating tools, BOM templates and reporting spreadsheetsExcellent attention to detail with strong commercial and organisational skillsWhat's on OfferOpportunity to join a growing systems integration business with a strong pipeline of projectsExposure to a diverse range of industrial automation projects across multiple industriesGenuine opportunity to help shape and develop the company's estimating functionSupportive team environment with long-term career development opportunitiesPlease note you must have full Australian working rights, as sponsorship is not available.
