About the role

The Event Producer sits within the Event Strategy and Delivery team in Experience Melbourne and offers an exciting opportunity to help bring some of Melbourne’s most distinctive arts, cultural and festival experiences to life.

Working within the Premier Events team, you’ll contribute to the planning and delivery of major City of Melbourne events, with a particular focus on arts and cultural programming, including Now or Never and New Year’s Eve. The role works closely with the Senior Manager Premier Events to deliver high-quality programs that align with the creative and strategic vision of each event while remaining achievable, sustainable and responsive to budget and operational requirements.

This is a hands-on producer role spanning programming, production and event delivery. You'll work with musicians, artists, agents, promoters and venues, alongside creatives, partners, suppliers and stakeholders, to develop engaging music and cultural experiences while balancing creative ambition with the realities of delivering complex events in a live city environment.

A little more about the role

- Lead the planning, production and delivery of music and arts programming for Now or Never and other Premier Events programs including New Year’s Eve, translating creative and curatorial concepts into memorable audience experiences.
- Book, curate and produce live music and sound programming, working directly with artists, agents, promoters, labels and venues to bring high-quality music and sound experiences to the events.
- Work collaboratively with artists, creatives, venues, partners and internal teams to develop programming and deliver events aligned with the strategic and curatorial vision of the events.
- Coordinate event logistics, site operations, suppliers, contracts, resources and production requirements to support safe and successful event delivery.
- Manage competing priorities, risk, compliance and stakeholder requirements while maintaining a solid focus on quality, accessibility, sustainability and continuous improvement

About you

You’re a creative and collaborative event professional who understands what it takes to bring ambitious arts and cultural programming to life. You’re comfortable working at the intersection of creative vision and practical delivery, building strong relationships with artists, partners and stakeholders while keeping complex programs moving.

What your experience might look like

- Experience in music or arts programming - booking, curating or producing live music, sound or cross-artform experiences - within a festival, venue or major event environment.
- Established networks and industry knowledge within Melbourne's music and live events sector, including relationships with artists, agents, promoters, labels and music venues.
- Experience in event management, festival production or programming, ideally within a major arts, cultural, music or outdoor festival environment.
- Demonstrated experience working within a programming-led festival environment, with an understanding of how creative programming and event operations work together.
- Strong experience coordinating event production and operations, including logistics, planning, risk, suppliers, contracts and resources.
- Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with senior stakeholders, artists, creatives,



partners and service providers.
- Solid project management and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver complex programs in dynamic live-event environments.
