About the role

Lorne Bush House Cottages and Eco Retreats located on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria are seeking an enthusiastic, fit and energetic, professional couple to manage and run our holiday cottages and glamping retreats. This joint opportunity combines a full time Management Role (38 hours) and a Part-Time support role (up to 20 hours). It is perfect for a duo looking to live, work and thrive together, enjoying the beautiful coastal lifestyle, of one of the country's most iconic coastal tourist destinations, Lorne.

This position is not available for sponsorship and does not comply with the 88 days of regional work for those looking to extend their stay in Australia. Only those with permanent residency will be considered.

Key responsibilities

This is a hands-on accommodation management position and is pivotal to ensuring smooth daily operations.

Manager (38 hours $70,000 per year + Superannuation):

- Oversee reservations and guest communications

- Responsible for housekeeping, taking bookings and banking

- Responsible for social media - Facebook and Instagram and marketing

- Responsible for ordering of stock and supplies

- Liaising and problem solving with guests in relation to their needs

- Ensuring 5 star property presentation at all times

Support Role (up to 20 hours $36,000 per year + Superannuation):

- Assist with guest communications

- Responsible for window cleaning and garden and grounds maintenance

- Ensure adequate supplies of firewood is always available





- Provide hands-on back up with housekeeping during guest changeover windows

About you

- A proven history of working in tourist accommodation businesses

- Sound computer skills and robust knowledge and experience with online booking systems preferably Little Hotelier

- Be trustworthy, honest and open with views and actions and be able to work autonomously

- Experience with working with third party booking agencies - booking.com, expedia, airbnb, trip.com and agoda

- Be able to supervise additional staff who are employed in peak times

- Physically fit and active, enjoy working both indoors and outdoors

- Able to work weekends and public holidays

- Permanent residency required

Lorne Bush House Cottages and Eco Retreats are located on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. We are set on 13 acres in the Lorne hinterland, just 4 minutes drive from the beach shops and restaurants. We attract both local and international guests and our business is based around nature and the local wildlife who frequent the property - kangaroo, koala and native birds so we are not pet friendly for our guests or our staff.
