Program Lead (Respite, Child & Youth and Community Participation)
The Role

The Program Lead (Respite, Child & Youth, and Community Participation) is a pivotal role primarily focused on driving the delivery of exceptional, respite accommodation programs, alongside child, youth, and adult community participation services.

Working with the Practice and Quality teams, you will lead a "switched on" frontline team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support rooted in trauma-informed practice and cultural safety to people with disability. Your commitment to strict NDIS compliance and DCP practice & principles ensures that every participant's journey—whether a short-term respite stay or a long-term developmental pathway—is secure, responsive, and focused on growth.

Beyond day-to-day facility management and care supervision, you serve as a vital connection for families, guardians, and stakeholders, strengthening EllieB’s reputation for clinically governed, safety-first supports. By building trust-based relationships, you foster a sustainable, values-aligned service that honours diversity, cultural identity, and personal meaning for every individual.

EBL Disability Services Inc t/a EllieB’s is a mid-sized, carer-led, not-for-profit organisation with over 45 years’ experience supporting people with disability across South Australia.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Clinical Oversight: Role model best practice care and provide on-the-job coaching to embed EllieB’s values.

Advanced Therapeutic Support: Oversee the delivery of safe, empowering care for clients with complex needs.





Behavioural Support: Monitor Behaviour Support Plan implementation and the safe use of authorised restrictive practices with a focus on reduction and elimination.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain trust-based relationships with families, therapists, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated care that is in the best interests of the client.

Compliance & Governance: Ensure all work adheres to EllieB's policies & protocols, NDIS Practice Standards, DCP principles and practice, and legislative frameworks through defensible documentation and rigorous reporting.

Workforce Excellence: Ensure all personnel meet minimum qualification and safety requirements.

Service Growth: Identify opportunities for current programs and represent EllieB’s at community events and expos.

Integrity and Safeguarding Focus: Ensure the protection of all clients, including children and young people, safeguarding their long-term developmental goals, cultural identity, and safety-first supports.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Expertise: Deep knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and DCP Practice & Principles.

Experience: Extensive background in supporting people with disability and managing complex behaviours.

Leadership: Proven ability to mentor and lead culturally diverse teams in fast-paced environments.

Attributes: Professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to reflective practice.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of developmental disability and associated conditions.

Essential Requirements

Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention - minimum.

Clearances: Current WWCC, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and National Police Clearance.

Certifications: First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration, Trauma-informed care and Child Safe Environments.

Licence: Current unencumbered driver’s licence.

Availability: Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
