About the role

Sudbury Community House Association Inc is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our childcare team in Mirrabooka, WA. This is a part-time position that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children and support their developmental journey during their early years. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will create nurturing, inclusive environments that foster learning, growth and wellbeing for children in our care. Your role is vital to our mission of providing quality early childhood education and care that supports families and communities.

Key responsibilities

- Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate learning activities and experiences that engage children and support their cognitive, physical, social and emotional development

- Providing direct care and supervision to children in a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment

- Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues to create a supportive community

- Observing and assessing children's development and progress, documenting learning outcomes and sharing observations with parents and guardians

- Maintaining a clean, secure and well-organised learning environment that meets all health and safety standards

- Collaborating with the childcare team to implement centre policies and procedures

- Communicating regularly with families about their child's experiences, learning and wellbeing

- Supporting children with different learning styles and additional needs, adapting activities and approaches as required





- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards and codes of conduct

What we're looking for

- A qualification in Early Childhood Education or a recognised equivalent certification (Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or higher)

- Current First Aid and CPR certification

- Working with Children Check

- Demonstrated experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with children, families and colleagues

- A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to supporting children's learning and development

- Knowledge of early childhood education frameworks and best practices, including play-based learning approaches

- The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and follow Centre policies and procedures

- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

- A flexible, patient and enthusiastic approach to working with children of varying ages and abilities
