Headquartered in Broome, Western Australia, BRAMS provides holistic, culturally safe primary healthcare, aged care, and community programs to Aboriginal people throughout the Kimberley region.

About the Role

The Finance Officer (Payroll and Accounts Receivable) is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and accounts receivable functions at BRAMS, ensuring payroll processing, salary packaging, superannuation, invoicing and receipt of payments are managed in accordance with organisational policies, legislative requirements and funding obligations.

Working within the Finance Team and reporting to the Finance Team Leader, you will maintain accurate payroll and accounts receivable records, conduct reconciliations, monitor outstanding invoices and contribute to financial reporting. The role also provides operational support across other finance functions, including accounts payable, travel administration and program billing, working collaboratively across the team to ensure continuity of financial operations.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Processing fortnightly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with employment contracts, awards and organisational policies.
- Processing salary packaging deductions and superannuation contributions in accordance with provider and legislative requirements.
- Maintaining payroll records,



including pay details, allowances, deductions and employment status updates.
- Processing employee terminations, including calculation of final payments, leave balances and entitlements.
- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies, including back pays, adjustments and payroll queries.
- Processing and managing accounts receivable transactions, including issuing invoices and receipting payments.
- Monitoring outstanding accounts and following up overdue invoices in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintaining accurate debtor records and ensuring accounts receivable data is current and reconciled.
- Providing operational support across other finance functions, including accounts payable, travel administration and program billing.
- Assisting the Accountant and Finance Team Leader with financial queries, reconciliations, reporting and audit documentation.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must address the following selection criteria in your cover letter.

Essential

- A relevant qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, finance or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in payroll processing and/or finance administration, preferably within a medium to large organisation.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when processing financial data and payroll information.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills,



with the ability to work collaboratively with managers, staff and stakeholders.

Desirable

- Experience working in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector.
- Knowledge of grant funding and government reporting requirements.
- Experience supporting financial audits and compliance reporting.
