Murrumbidgee Local Health District is seeking a dedicated and skilled General Practitioner to join the medical team at Corowa Health Service as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO). About the Role

The GP VMO will provide contemporary, comprehensive, evidence-based General Practice services that are safe, effective and patient-centred. The position incorporates a diverse range of clinical responsibilities including inpatient, outpatient, consultative, diagnostic, telehealth and on-call services.

The successful applicant will:

- Provide accountable and high-quality patient care across the health service.
- Deliver evidence-based clinical services to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in clinical supervision, education and teaching of junior medical officers and other healthcare staff.
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities.
- Maintain comprehensive clinical records and contribute to service development.
- Participate in the on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable timeframe.

Selection Criteria

1. A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the RACGP/ ACRRM/RACP and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
2. Minimum three (3) years post graduate clinical experience. Previous experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics or Rural Medicine an advantage.
3. Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Competence in performing the range of minor urgent procedures commonly undertaken in a rural emergency department including Advanced Life Support and Trauma management
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research and quality improvement.
6. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
7. Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
