The role will involve working across React, TypeScript, Kotlin/Java microservices, APIs and transaction-processing workflows, with a preference for candidates who have prior experience supporting or building financial transaction, payments, billing or reconciliation systems, where accuracy, auditability and reliability are critical.
The role will also involve operational support and maintenance of a Perl based financial transaction product which has connections to AWS and third party payment providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Requirement Analysis:
- Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with product managers, quality assurance, Operations and Finance to define technical project specifications and requirements for the financial transaction product.
- Requirement Analysis and Estimation: Lead the team in analysing technical requirements, conducting research, and estimating effort for support and enhancement work.
System Design:
- Technical Design and Implementation: Design scalable, secure and maintainable solutions across React front-end applications, Kotlin/Java microservices, REST APIs and integration points that support financial transaction processing.
Implementation:
- Code Development and Review: Actively write production-quality React, TypeScript and Kotlin code, participate in code reviews, and uphold engineering standards across front-end and backend services.
- Testing and Validation: Perform rigorous testing and validation of solutions, including transaction integrity and reconciliation scenarios, to ensure the quality of deliverables.
- Production Support and Troubleshooting: Act as a specialist point of escalation for issues affecting the financial transaction product, diagnosing and resolving defects across front-end, backend and integration layers.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate transaction failures, reconciliation discrepancies and data integrity issues, working with Operations and Finance teams to identify root cause and implement fixes.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain accurate documentation and runbooks for engineering and support processes, ensuring all necessary materials are produced and maintained for future reference and compliance
Project Delivery:
- Agile Participation: Actively participate in agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
- Project Delivery: Ensure support and enhancement work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Maintenance:
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and support to team members on best practices and technical issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for improving performance, maintainability, and reducing recurring incidents.
Operations:
- Support: Own the end-to-end management of the financial transaction product, including debugging and fixing production issues, liaising with technical contacts from third-parties, and handle the resubmission of transactions.
- Incident Management: Own the end-to-end management of incidents affecting the financial transaction product, including triage, communicating updates to stakeholders, and coordinating fixes, ensuring minimal impact to customers and financial accuracy.
