We're looking for a hands on Leading Hand that wants to break through to a Supervisor role working North Gold Coast to the Brisbane River with an up and coming civil construction company. This position includes all required tools and a up-to-date dual cab ute for work and some private use.

Our focus is Earthworks, Retaining Walls, Sewer, Drainage and Pavements.

With the support of the owners you'll ensure our sites are safe, productive, that our clients are happy and that they recieve all required documentation. You'll also make sure our gear is being looked after, and we're not holding onto hired equipment for too long.

You'll start each day by running a toolbox talk ensuring that the crew know what the goal is for the day, have everything they need and everything is safe. You'll capture cost data from deliveries as they come in, then roll up you sleeves and help the boys with whatever is happening on the ground. After the excitement you'll ensure the next day is organised, timesheets are completed and that everyone is ready to go tomorrow.

You'll learn about construction standards, methodologies, QA requirements, safety requirements and everything else that goes into a successful project.

Core Responsibilities

- Team Leadership: Direct daily site activities, assign tasks, and lead toolbox talks for work crews.

- Hands-on Work:



Participate directly in civil tasks like earthworks, drainage, or road construction alongside the crew.

- Safety Compliance: Enforce workplace health and safety (WHS) policies, check plant and machinery operations, and ensure safe work procedures.

- Quality Control: Monitor work standards, interpret site plans, and verify that construction meets project specifications.

- Communication: Act as the primary link between frontline workers and site supervisors, keeping daily records of activities.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

- Experience: 3 to 5 years of practical experience in civil construction (roads, drainage, or earthworks).

- Certifications: General Construction Induction Card (White Card), valid driver's license, and relevant plant tickets or VOCs (Verification of Competency).

- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, basic problem-solving, plan reading, and time management.

- Working Rights: Full working rights in Australia.
