About the role

You'll look after the roll forming lines and the rest of the plant. You'll perform breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance, working across hydraulics, tooling, machine diagnostics, and basic fabrication to keep production running.

Key responsibilities

- Breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance on the roll formers and supporting equipment

- Hydraulics: pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses and accumulator systems (charging, testing, protected isolation)

- Tooling: removing, inspecting, shimming and refitting punch and shear die sets, roll tooling and cutting blades

- Setting and adjusting roll stations, guides and cassettes so the product comes out straight and to spec

- Low voltage fault-finding: 24V sensors, limit switches, relays, encoders, solenoids and safety circuits, working from the drawings

- Using the machine PC and controller to diagnose faults, reset drives and get the line back up

- Basic welding and fabrication for repairs, brackets and guarding

- Knowledge of safe work practices





About you

- Roll forming experience. You've maintained roll forming lines before. FrameCAD machines preferred.

- Proven mechanical and hydraulic breakdown repair. You can show jobs where you found the fault, fixed it and got the line running again, including hydraulic and accumulator systems.

- Proven low voltage fault-finding. Multimeter and drawings, tracing 24V control faults to the failed part.

- Trade qualification. Fitter and Turner, Fitter and Machinist or Mechanical Fitter (Cert III or equivalent).

- Die sets and precision tooling. Able to measure, shim and set to tight tolerances.

- Comfortable with PC or PLC-controlled machinery and talking to the OEM when needed

- Forklift license, or willing to get one

- General Mechanical knowledge of all types of machinery

- Practical, methodical and calm when a line stops
