Youth and Family Specialist
Hi, I'm a young person living in Western Sydney.
You might meet me when things are going well.
Or you might meet me when they're really not.
Maybe I'm struggling at school. Maybe things are difficult at home. Maybe I'm feeling lost, stressed, isolated, or unsure about what comes next.
Whatever is going on, I'm looking for someone who can help.
Someone who listens.
Someone who can help me work through challenges, connect with the right supports, and advocate for me when I need it.
Someone who'll support my family as well, because what's happening in my life doesn't just affect me.
That's why Fair Foundations is looking for a Youth and Family Specialist.
In this role, you'll work with young people and families across Fairfield, Campbelltown and Liverpool. You'll help us set goals, navigate services, access support, and build the confidence and skills we need to move forward.
You'll also help deliver programs for young people and parents, support youth-led projects and events, and create opportunities for young people like me to feel connected, heard and involved in our communities.
The sort of person I'm hoping for?
- You genuinely care about young people and families.
- You see strengths, not just problems.
- You can build trust and meaningful relationships.
- You're willing to advocate for us when we need support.
- You're comfortable working with people from different cultures, backgrounds and experiences.
- You understand that sometimes change takes time.
Fair Foundations says you'll also need:
- A degree in psychology, social work, social sciences or a related field.
- Experience working with young people and families, including case management, support work or community development.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard hours for youth programs, drop-in sessions and community events.
- A valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) and a National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Check (NDISWC) as part of our commitment to Child Safety.
Fair Foundations has been working alongside communities in Greater Western Sydney for more than 50 years. They believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive, belong and shape their future.
If that sounds like something you'd like to be part of, we'd love to hear from you.
Please refer to the Position Description on our website for the full selection criteria.
All applicants must include a cover letter addressing the attributes and skills listed above with a current resume.
