About the Role

Are you an organised, compassionate and proactive administrator who wants to make a real difference?

We’re looking for an Administrative Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of Dot’s Place Bunbury in the beautiful Southwest. This is a rewarding opportunity to combine both your people and administrative skills while helping create a welcoming, respectful and supportive environment for regionally based Western Australian’s affected by cancer and their families.

As a key member of our team, you’ll be a friendly and professional first point of contact for clients, families, volunteers and visitors. You’ll provide reliable administrative and operational support, helping to ensure the Dot’s Place Bunbury runs smoothly and ensuring every person is welcomed with warmth, dignity and respect.

You’ll work closely with volunteers, community partners and the broader Cancer Council WA team. You’ll be joining a close-knit workplace where people genuinely support one another and contribute to a service that supports people and families during what can be an incredibly challenging time.

This is a part-time position (0.5 FTE) based in Bunbury, Southwest. Ideally, we’re looking for someone who can work five shifts per fortnight, however we’re open to discussing versatile arrangements with the right candidate.

What you’ll be doing:

• Welcoming clients, families and visitors, managing appointments and providing administrative assistance to the Cancer Support Coordinator in connecting people with appropriate support services.

• Supporting Dot’s Place Bunbury with day-to-day operations,



including opening and closing procedures, maintaining a welcoming environment and monitoring supplies.

• Providing administrative and practical support for programs, groups and events, including scheduling, preparation and communication with participants, volunteers and stakeholders.

• Supporting day-to-day volunteers’ coordination, including maintaining accurate records, rosters, communications, attendance, visitor numbers and service activity data.

• Providing responsive administrative and operational support to the broader statewide services team.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver a high standard of service.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following key attributes:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in an administrative support role.

• Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

• The ability to communicate sensitively and respectfully with people affected by cancer and their families.

• Experience in a health, community services, not-for-profit or volunteer-based environment would be highly regarded.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.

• Experience using databases, CRM systems and electronic record management systems.

• Strong verbal, written listening and interpersonal communication skills, together with a commitment to excellent customer service.

• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.

• A flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities and service needs.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
