The company's a global OEM of specialised construction equipment supplying the construction, mining and tunnelling industries. They’ve built a great reputation for producing cutting-edge equipment and, just as importantly, backing it up with quality aftersales service, technical support and parts. Due to continued expansion and growth over the last 24 months, another position has been created within the service division. This role offers a great mix. When you’re not away on FIFO work, you’ll be based in Perth working from the company’s workshop and carrying out local field service work on the normal hourly rate. When FIFO work comes up, you’ll head to site and receive an additional $25–$30 per hour allowance on top of your normal hourly rate for the time you’re working on the FIFO job.

So, you get the stability of a permanent Perth-based position without being stuck permanently on a FIFO roster, plus the opportunity to make some very good money when you do head away.

Position Overview

- Working on the company’s range of specialised construction and mining equipment.

- Servicing, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs to diesel-powered heavy-duty equipment.

- Changing out parts and components.

- Working with diesel engines, transmissions, final drives, hydraulic and electrical systems.

- Workshop and local field-service work throughout Perth.

- Travelling to FIFO sites when required to carry out service, repairs, breakdown and technical support.

- Fault-finding and getting equipment back up and running properly.

- Working both autonomously and as part of the company’s service team.

Candidate Requirements

- Cert III Plant Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic/Fitter or similar.

- Sound knowledge and experience working on mobile plant or similar diesel-powered equipment.





- Construction equipment, mining equipment or other specialised heavy-equipment experience will be highly regarded.

- Comfortable travelling and undertaking FIFO work when required.

- An honest worker with a good work ethic.

- Mechanically minded with a genuine interest in machinery and learning new equipment, systems and technical skills.

- Driver’s licence; HR licence highly regarded.

- Someone who works well within a small team but is equally capable of working autonomously.

- You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be considered for this role.

- Ability to pass a medical and drug and alcohol testing.
