Circl Group | Executive Leadership Team
Circl is looking for a CFO who wants to help build something significant.
We are a rapidly scaling, technology-led field services group operating across Australia and New Zealand, with ambitious plans for the next three years and beyond.
Our growth strategy is deliberately aggressive. It combines strong organic growth, strategic acquisitions, continued investment in proprietary technology and, ultimately, preparing the Group for a major liquidity event — potentially including an ASX listing.
We are looking for the financial leader who can help us get there.
But this isn’t a traditional corporate CFO role.
We want an operator, not an administrator.
At Circl, our executive team operates close to the truth.
We don’t manage businesses through layers of people, presentations and monthly reports. We get into the detail, understand what’s actually happening, make decisions quickly and take ownership of the outcome.
Our CFO needs to operate the same way.
You’ll need to be capable of sitting with the Board discussing capital strategy, acquisitions and a future listing — and then getting into the numbers yourself to understand why a business unit missed margin last week.
Strategic enough to help shape where we’re going. Hands-on enough to know exactly what’s happening today.
If you’re looking for a large finance department underneath you, this probably isn’t the role.
If you love building systems, using technology and AI to eliminate unnecessary administration, getting close to commercial performance and creating a finance function that can scale significantly without scaling headcount at the same rate — keep reading.
The opportunity
You’ll join Circl’s Executive Leadership Team at an important point in our journey.
Over the next three years, we intend to materially increase the scale and value of the Group through a combination of:
- significant organic growth;
- strategic acquisitions and integration;
- expansion of our national service capability;
- continued development and commercialisation of our proprietary technology;
- disciplined improvement in margins, cash generation and financial performance;
- strengthening our capital structure and funding capability; and
- preparing the organisation for a future liquidity event, potentially including an ASX listing.
You won’t inherit a finished finance function.
You’ll help build the one we need for where we’re going.
What you’ll own
As CFO, you’ll have executive responsibility for the financial performance, financial infrastructure and capital strategy of Circl Group.
Your responsibilities will include:
Financial performance
- Own the numbers — revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, working capital, cash flow and return on capital.
- Develop clear, real-time visibility of performance across the Group,
its divisions, contracts and major clients.
- Identify where we’re making money, where we’re losing it, why it’s happening and what we’re going to do about it.
Commercial finance
- Work directly with the CEO, COO, CCO and operational leaders to improve commercial performance.
- Challenge assumptions.
- Understand contract economics, pricing, labour models, supplier costs, utilisation, productivity and margin at a granular level.
Finance at Circl isn’t there to report what happened. It’s there to help change what happens next.
Growth & M&A;
Play a central role in our inorganic growth strategy, including:
- target assessment;
- financial modelling;
- valuation;
- due diligence;
- deal structuring;
- funding;
- negotiation support;
- integration planning; and
- post-acquisition performance.
You’ll help us determine not simply whether we can acquire a business, but whether we should.
Capital & funding
Lead our relationships with banks, lenders, investors and other capital partners.
Build a capital strategy capable of supporting significant growth while maintaining appropriate financial discipline.
Future liquidity / ASX readiness
Help build Circl into an organisation capable of undertaking a significant future liquidity event.
That means progressively establishing the governance, reporting, controls, forecasting, financial discipline, audit readiness and capital structure expected of a substantially larger organisation — without introducing unnecessary corporate bureaucracy along the way.
Technology-first finance
We believe the finance function of the future looks very different from the finance department of the past.
Circl already operates around a technology-first philosophy across the broader business, using our proprietary CoreTechX platform to orchestrate national field operations.
We expect the same thinking in finance.
You’ll be expected to aggressively use technology, automation, AI and integrated data to create a highly capable but deliberately lean finance function.
We’re not interested in building a large team to manually process information that technology should handle.
We want better information, faster decisions and fewer layers.
Who we’re looking for
We’re less interested in where you’ve worked than in what you’ve actually built and achieved.
You’ll likely be a CFO, Finance Director, Head of Finance or commercially focused senior finance executive who has operated in a high-growth environment.
Experience with some combination of the following would be highly regarded:
- high-growth or entrepreneurial businesses;
- businesses scaling from founder-led to institutional;
- M&A; and business integration;
- debt and equity funding;
- multi-entity or multi-division groups;
- technology-enabled businesses;
- field services, construction, insurance, infrastructure, facilities management or adjacent sectors;
- private equity or institutional capital;
- IPO or ASX readiness; and
- building scalable finance functions.
- CPA, CA or equivalent qualifications would be expected, but qualifications alone won’t get you this job.
The person matters
We’re looking for someone commercially sharp, intellectually curious and comfortable moving quickly. Someone who asks questions. Someone prepared to challenge the CEO and the rest of the executive team when the numbers don’t support the story. Someone who can make decisions without having perfect information. Someone who gets uncomfortable when they don’t understand a number. Someone who will walk into the operation to find the answer rather than send another email asking for a report. And someone who genuinely enjoys building.
This isn’t a job for the faint-hearted.
Circl is growing quickly. We move fast, challenge conventional thinking and regularly push beyond what people think is possible. There will be pressure. There will be ambiguity. There will be problems we haven’t encountered before. That’s part of the opportunity.
Why Circl?
Circl is building a different model for field services.
We combine a national workforce, operational capability and proprietary technology to coordinate field work across Australia and New Zealand.
Our technology platform, CoreTechX, brings together intelligent triage, compliance, scheduling, dispatch, field execution, evidence, quality assurance, commercial data and reporting into one operating environment.
We’re applying technology to field services in ways that historically haven’t been possible — with the objective of creating a business capable of scaling without the traditional relationship between revenue growth and administrative headcount.
For the right CFO, this is an opportunity to influence much more than the finance department.
You’ll help shape the company.
Equity & reward
We want our senior leaders thinking and behaving like owners.
In addition to a competitive executive remuneration package, the successful candidate will have the prospect to participate in Circl’s Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP), providing the potential to share directly in the value we create together.
If our ambitions resonate with you — and you’d rather help build the next chapter than simply manage someone else’s — we’d like to hear from you.

Every promise kept.
