About the role

Power Partners is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator – Commercial Refurbishments to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based in Melbourne Inner North VIC. In this role, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial refurbishment projects, working closely with project managers, architects and clients to ensure competitive pricing and project profitability. You will play a crucial part in our estimating function, supporting the successful delivery of our commercial refurbishment portfolio and contributing to Power Partners' strategic growth objectives.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing comprehensive cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial refurbishment projects of varying scope and complexity

- Analysing architectural drawings, specifications and tender documents to identify project requirements and cost drivers

- Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations and pricing information

- Conducting site inspections and assessments to inform estimation accuracy and identify potential risks or challenges

- Maintaining detailed cost databases and historical project information to support future estimating activities

- Collaborating with project managers and senior management to review estimates and ensure alignment with business strategy and project objectives

- Monitoring project performance against estimates and providing variance analysis and reporting





- Supporting the business development team with pre-tender advice and project feasibility assessments

- Ensuring all estimates comply with company standards, procedures and quality requirements

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably with a focus on commercial refurbishment or fit-out projects

- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, labour costs and industry pricing trends relevant to commercial refurbishments

- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn new systems quickly

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously

- Solid communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external stakeholders

- Sound understanding of contract documentation, project specifications and tender processes

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment

- A qualification in construction, quantity surveying or a related discipline would be advantageous

- Experience with building information modelling (BIM) or takeoff software is desirable
