Head of Sport Opportunities
Peninsula Grammar is seeking passionate, experienced and inspiring sports leaders to join our Co-Curricular Program as a Head of Sport for our 2027 Winter Season.
Applications are invited for the following positions:
- Head of Netball – Summer Season Program
- Head of Football – Summer Season Program (pre-season commences Term 4, 2026)
- Head of Soccer – Summer Season Program
These leadership appointments play a key role in shaping and developing our sporting programs, fostering a culture of excellence, participation, sportsmanship and student development.
The successful candidates will provide leadership and direction across their respective sporting programs, overseeing and developing coaching staff, supporting student-athletes, and ensuring a positive and engaging experience for all participants. Working closely with students, families, coaches and School staff, Heads of Sport will drive the ongoing growth and success of their program while aligning with the School's values and strategic priorities.
Appointments may be offered on either an employee or contractor basis for a period of up to three years, with hours varying depending on the requirements of each sporting program.
The Role
- Lead and oversee the strategic development of the relevant sporting program
- Foster a culture of excellence, participation, sportsmanship and student wellbeing
- Recruit, support, mentor and provide leadership to coaching staff
- Coordinate training programs, trials, team selections and competition participation
- Work collaboratively with coaches to ensure consistency in coaching philosophy and program delivery
- Promote skill development and pathway opportunities for students at all levels of participation and performance
- Support student-athletes in balancing sporting commitments with their academic and personal development
- Assist with planning fixtures, events, tournaments and representative opportunities
- Monitor and maintain appropriate standards of conduct, safety and student wellbeing within the program
- Maintain effective communication with students, families, coaches and School staff
- Contribute to the broader co-curricular and community life of the School
- Support the implementation of Peninsula Grammar's strategic vision for sport and physical activity
About You
You will be an enthusiastic and capable sports leader who demonstrates:
- Significant coaching and/or leadership experience within the relevant sport
- A strong understanding of player development across school-aged athletes
- Experience leading, mentoring or managing coaching staff and sporting programs
- Excellent organisational and administrative capabilities
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues
- The ability to inspire, motivate and develop young people to achieve their personal best
- A commitment to fostering inclusive participation while supporting pathways for high-performing athletes
- A strong understanding of risk management, student safety and wellbeing within a sporting environment
- The ability to work collaboratively within a large and dynamic school community
- Alignment with the values and culture of Peninsula Grammar

These Appointments will require:
- Relevant Coaching Accreditation
- Current VIT or Working with Children Check
- First-Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications
- Child Safety training (Mandatory Reporting Certificate)
