Your role

You’ll be a part of our Finance team based in Sydney. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Accountant plays a critical role in delivering timely and accurate Financial Accounting information and analysis to support management in making informed business decisions.

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will lead the maintenance of the general ledger to ensure accurate accounting information and reliable financial reporting. Responsibilities include:

- Overseeing the month-end reporting and ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately, and accounts are reconciled.

- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing entries and ensuring proper accounting treatment for transactions.

- Participate in the year-end statutory reporting and audit, including coordinating the required documentation and providing explanations for audit queries.

- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting, including the annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.





- Track actual performance against budget and forecast, providing insights and recommendations for variances.

- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.

- Communicate financial results to senior management and other stakeholders.

- Ad hoc tasks

This is a 12-month contract, full time opportunity. Hybrid working (60% in the office) is how we work, however, flexibility matters at Allens, so if you are seeking hybrid working or are looking for flexibility in your work, we would be happy to discuss what arrangements would work best for you.

About you

You will have:

- ICAANZ, or CPA qualified with 2+ years of post qualification experience.

- Experience in the professional services sector is desirable.

- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

- In-depth knowledge of financial accounting, analysis and reporting with expertise in applying relevant accounting standards.
