The Role
The Occupational Hygienist leads the development, implementation and continuous improvement of occupational hygiene programs across Northern Australia Operations. Working closely with operational leaders and HSEC teams, you'll identify, assess and control workplace health hazards while delivering exposure monitoring programs that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support a safe, healthy workplace.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead occupational hygiene programs across Northern Australia Operations
- Identify, evaluate and control occupational health hazards and workplace exposures
- Design and execute occupational hygiene sampling and exposure monitoring programs
- Interpret data from NATA-accredited laboratories to assess compliance with workplace exposure standards
- Lead investigations into health-related exceedances and provide expert recommendations on controls and corrective actions
- Provide specialist occupational hygiene advice to leaders, operational teams and HSEC stakeholders
What you'll bring
You're a proactive and practical Occupational Hygienist with experience in heavy industry, mining, manufacturing or a similarly complex operational environment. You have a strong understanding of occupational exposure risks, enjoy translating technical information into practical solutions,
and can effectively partner with stakeholders to improve workplace health outcomes.
- You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Hygiene, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health or a related discipline
- Certified Occupational Hygienist, or ability to obtain certification
- Strong experience delivering occupational hygiene programs within industrial, mining, chemical manufacturing or similar environments
- Demonstrated capability interpreting exposure monitoring data and applying workplace exposure standards

This role is based at Phosphate Hill,
with frequent travel to Mount Isa, Townsville Port and office facilities.
