Engagement: 6 month Contract Opportunity
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Communications Advisor to support the delivery of major transport infrastructure projects on the Sunshine Coast.

Working within an integrated project environment, you will lead communications and stakeholder engagement activities across significant infrastructure packages, partnering closely with project teams, contractors, government stakeholders and the community.

This is not a traditional corporate communications role. You’ll be embedded within major project delivery teams, helping manage construction impacts, stakeholder relationships, community engagement and emerging issues throughout active project delivery.

The Role As Senior Communications Advisor, you will:

- Lead communications and stakeholder engagement strategies for major infrastructure project packages.

- Work closely with contractor and project delivery teams to ensure communications are coordinated, accurate and timely.

- Build strong relationships with government agencies, local councils, businesses, community groups and impacted stakeholders.

- Provide strategic advice to project managers and delivery partners on communications, engagement, reputation and emerging issues.

- Plan and coordinate construction communications, including project notifications, stakeholder briefings, community engagement and issue responses.

- Review communications and consultation materials to ensure quality, consistency and alignment with project requirements.

- Identify and help mitigate stakeholder and community risks associated with project delivery.

- Monitor community sentiment and stakeholder feedback to support informed project decision-making.

- Coordinate communications across multiple project packages,

contractors and delivery interfaces.

- Represent the project team in stakeholder, contractor and community meetings as required.

About You
We are looking for an experienced communications qualified who is confident operating within complex, fast-moving project environments and can build credibility across multiple organisations and stakeholder groups.

You will ideally bring:

- Demonstrated communications and stakeholder engagement experience within major infrastructure, construction, alliance, joint venture or contractor-delivered project environments.

- Experience managing communications associated with active construction, project impacts and stakeholder risk.

- Strong experience working within integrated project teams involving multiple organisations, disciplines and delivery partners.

- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships.

- Exceptional written communication skills and the ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, accessible messaging.

- Experience managing sensitive issues, community concerns and competing stakeholder priorities.

- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work autonomously in a complex delivery environment.

Experience within transport infrastructure or major construction projects will be particularly highly regarded.

IAP2 certification and/or tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline would also be advantageous.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to contribute to major, transformational infrastructure projects on the Sunshine Coast and see the direct impact of your work on project delivery and the surrounding community.

You’ll work alongside experienced project professionals, technical specialists, contractors and communications practitioners within a highly collaborative environment.
