About the Role

n

As a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at LRH, you will contribute to a dynamic service providing high-quality maternity, gynaecology, and reproductive health care to a diverse regional population. You will work within a collaborative team of O&G; consultants, registrars, midwives, nurses, neonatologists, anaesthetists, and allied health professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Specialist obstetric care - antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal management, including high-risk pregnancies.
n
- Gynaecological assessment and treatment - outpatient clinics, procedural work, and elective/emergency surgery.
n
- Clinical leadership - supervision of junior doctors, registrars, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
n
- Collaborative care with primary care, maternity services, paediatrics, and community partners.
n
- Service development - contributing to model-of-care improvements and strategic planning.
n
- Quality improvement and governance - participation in audit, safety initiatives,



and peer review.
n
- Education and research within the Women's & Children's Division.
n

Essential qualifications and experience:

- MRCOG, FRANZCOG, or equivalent specialist qualification
n
- Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
n
- Demonstrated senior-level experience in obstetrics and gynaecology
n
- Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with women, families, and colleagues
n
- Commitment to clinical governance, safety, and quality improvement
n
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary maternity and gynaecology team
