- Manage ongoing daily operations, sales and high-volume stock management within the specialist department
- Work closely with fellow Department Managers across Service, Inside the Home, Builders, and Lifestyles & Garden
- Report directly to the Operations Manager and Complex Manager
- Lead and manage a team of 20+ team members
- Perform duty manager responsibilities, including opening and closing the store on weekdays and weekends
- Train and develop team members on Best Experience and Safety Culture & Compliance
- Manage team engagement, performance, recognition and capability development
- Create rosters and strategically plan team coverage to deliver the service promise
- Drive department sales through merchandising and monitoring key metrics
- Monitor and measure customer service levels
- Action customer feedback to improve the end-to-end customer experience
- Own department stock accuracy, including adjustments, replenishment discipline and loss prevention
- Liaise with Merchandising, Store Leadership, Health and Safety teams, and suppliers
- Attend an onsite meet and greet with leaders if selected

Requirements

- Must be age 15 or over to apply
- Previous experience leading teams in the retail industry or a large, high volume customer focused organisation
- Experience leading teams with a focus on Safety and Wellbeing and Specialist products preferred
- Strong leadership and influencing skills
- Ability to lead and inspire a large team of 20+ through engagement, coaching and teamwork




- Ability to champion a Safe & Secure setting and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Experience opening and closing a store and supporting smooth trade across weekdays and weekends
- Ability to build team capability through clear expectations, performance conversations and recognition
- Understanding of KPIs and customer expectations
- Ability to deliver effective rostering and strategic planning
- Knowledge of merchandising, sales performance, stock accuracy, availability and loss prevention
- Ability to work a minimum of 1 in 3 weekends and some public holidays
- Successful completion of online chat interview and online video interview
- Background checks may be required, including police, employment, medical and qualification checks
