Environmental Contaminated Land Project Manager / Senior Project Manager

We are hiring an experienced environmental contaminated land consultant to run projects end to end. Title and package will match your experience. This is a permanent role in a specialist practice, not a large multidisciplinary firm.

About Compass Environmental

Compass is an independent contaminated land consultancy in Hawthorn East. We work on assessment and remediation, environmental due diligence, industrial and landfill sites, compliance and emergency response. The standard is straightforward: advice grounded in science, tested from more than one angle, and written so it stands up to a client, an auditor and a regulator.

Work comes largely from referral and repeat clients. You will see whole jobs, from the first conversation to sign-off, with directors and senior specialists on hand throughout.

The role

- Scope, price and run contaminated land projects: fieldwork programs, subcontractors, laboratories, budgets and close-out
- Lead and mentor field scientists
- Write and review PSIs, DSIs, remediation action plans, EMPs and risk management documentation




- Work with EPA-appointed environmental auditors and own the client relationship, including difficult technical and commercial conversations
- Work with the directors on project strategy and how the practice operates

What you will need

- Degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, geology, hydrogeology or a related discipline
- At least 5 years' contaminated land consulting (8+ for Senior), including demonstrated end-to-end project management
- Working knowledge of the ASC NEPM and the Victorian framework (EP Act 2017 and Regulations, ERS, EPA Victoria guidance)
- Excellent writing. The report is the product.
- A current driver's licence and full Australian working rights
