Lead Finance at the Centre of a Privately Owned SA Manufacturer

CEO Consulting Solutions is partnering with a long-established, privately owned and fast-growing South Australian manufacturer supplying high-quality building products to many of Adelaide’s leading residential builders.

Following significant investment in upgraded office and production facilities, this business is entering an significant stage of growth, operational improvement and increased commercial discipline. An opportunity now exists for a highly capable Chief Financial Officer to lead finance, strengthen systems and provide clear commercial insight to the Owner, General Manager and leadership team.

This is a senior finance leadership role in a hands-on manufacturing environment. You will own the financial performance framework across budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, working capital, month-end reporting, statutory compliance, risk, payroll, manufacturing finance, costing, inventory, capital controls, ERP systems and business improvement.

You will also oversee the company’s IT network and systems, working with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure the business has reliable, secure and fit-for-purpose technology platforms.

You will lead a small finance team across accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll, while remaining close enough to the detail to ensure deadlines are met, numbers are accurate and the business receives timely information it can rely on.

To be successful in this role, you must:

Be CPA or CA qualified.

Have proven CFO, Head of Finance or senior Financial Controller experience in manufacturing, building products, industrial, construction or a similar operational business.

Understand manufacturing finance, including labour, materials, inventory, BOMs, costing, margins, waste, working capital and production performance.

Be highly proficient with Power BI, advanced Excel and ERP/manufacturing systems.

Be capable of overseeing company IT networks and systems,



including external IT provider relationships.

Lead, coach and hold accountable a small finance team, setting clear expectations, improving capability and ensuring high-quality delivery across AR, AP, payroll and financial reporting.

Work effectively with banks, financial institutions, external accountants and professional advisers to support funding, compliance, reporting, risk and business planning requirements.

Provide commercially sound advice to the Owner and General Manager on financial performance, funding decisions, capital investment, cash flow, risk, growth opportunities and strategic business choices.

Be confident leading all financial aspects of a business while contributing meaningfully to strategic and operational decisions.

Be hands-on, accountable and comfortable working close to the detail in a practical manufacturing environment.

Produce accurate and timely management reporting, budgets, forecasts, cash flow analysis and Owner-level insight.

Improve financial systems, controls, processes, dashboards and reporting disciplines.

Partner effectively with Operations, Production, Purchasing, Sales and senior management.

Bring strong commercial judgement, integrity and the confidence to challenge constructively.
