Job Description
Coates Operations Coordinator
n
You'll be the key on-site representative supporting our customer at Phosphate Hill Mine. This hands-on role combines equipment coordination, customer service and mechanical maintenance responsibilities to ensure equipment is available, safe and ready for use when our customers need it.
n
Working autonomously in a satellite branch environment, you'll coordinate equipment requirements, build solid customer relationships and perform maintenance and servicing across our hire fleet. This role is ideal for a trade-qualified mechanic or fitter who enjoys a mix of technical and operational responsibilities.
n
This is a FIFO role from Townsville, based at Phosphate Hill Mine. You will work 12-hour shifts (6am to 6pm), 7 days per week while on site, with all flights, accommodation and meals fully provided.
n
We are open to discussing either a 1 week on, 1 week off roster or a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Demonstrate safety leadership and actively contribute to Coates' Safety First, Zero Harm culture.
n
- Coordinate the supply and mobilisation of equipment to meet customer project requirements.
n
- Conduct pre-hire inspections and ensure equipment is maintained to Coates standards.
n
- Respond to customer enquiries, provide equipment recommendations and deliver exceptional service.
n
- Coordinate maintenance activities and service schedules for site equipment.
n
- Perform fault finding, minor repairs and servicing on small plant and equipment.
n
- Liaise closely with site personnel to manage day-to-day equipment requirements.
n
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with operational and safety procedures.
n
n
About You
n
You'll be a proactive and customer-focused trade professional who enjoys building relationships and taking ownership of outcomes in a remote site environment.
n
To Be Successful, You'll Have
n
n
- Mechanical trade qualification (Diesel Fitter, Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or similar).
n
- Current Forklift Licence.
n
- Experience working with petrol and diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electrical systems.
n
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and preventative maintenance skills.
n
- Effective organisational and time management abilities.
n
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
n
- A strong commitment to safety and working within a Zero Harm environment.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
- EWP Licence.
n
- Test and Tag certification.
n
- Previous experience working in a mining, construction or equipment hire environment.
n
n
