The Opportunity

This opportunity is based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra, with 3 days in the office.

Our client is a privately backed infrastructure company supporting government and enterprise clients, with a growing domestic and international presence. With a strong focus on reliability and innovation, the business is currently undertaking a major finance system transformation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded accountant with a passion for systems, data, and process improvement to join a high-performing finance team. Working closely with Finance, IT, and operational stakeholders, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimising financial systems, ensuring data integrity, and enhancing reporting capabilities across the business.

The Challenge

n

Reporting to the Finance Systems Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

n

n
- Maintaining and supporting accounting systems and related applications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
n
- Performing configuration, testing, validation, and support of system upgrades, enhancements, and changes
n
- Ensuring the integrity, quality, and consistency of financial data across multiple systems and reporting outputs
n




- Supporting month-end and year-end processes by ensuring system outputs reconcile accurately to the general ledger
n
- Developing, maintaining, and enhancing standard and ad hoc financial reports using ERP systems, Excel, and Power BI
n
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, and reporting efficiencies
n
- Documenting system processes, controls, data flows, and user guides
n
- Providing support and troubleshooting assistance to finance system users across the business
n
- Assisting with the maintenance and enhancement of internal controls embedded within financial systems
n
- Supporting audits, system reviews, and control testing through the provision of data and reporting analysis
n
- Contributing to finance transformation initiatives and projects involving system and data enhancements
n

The Expertise

n

Please consider expressing interest if you possess the following:

n

n
- 5+ years' experience within a Financial Accountant, Systems Accountant, Finance Systems Analyst, or similar role
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
n
- Strong understanding of general ledger structures, financial reporting, and accounting processes.
n
- Experience supporting ERP systems, system implementations, upgrades, or process improvement initiatives
n
- Robust analytical skills with the ability to identify data issues and implement practical solutions
n
- CPA or CA qualification, or working towards completion, will be highly regarded
