Higgins Property Services is looking for an experienced, reliable and motivated Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to join our growing team.

n

This is a hands‐on role for someone who takes pride in presenting outdoor spaces to a high standard, can work independently and is confident overseeing and providing direction to a junior team member.

n

We service a range of high‐quality residential display villages and commercial properties across South East Queensland, with a strong focus on presentation, reliability and proactive property maintenance.

n

A fully equipped work van and grounds maintenance trailer will be provided for work use and can be taken home, allowing you to travel directly to scheduled sites as required.

n

THE ROLE

n

You will be responsible for the day-to-day grounds maintenance and presentation of our client sites.

n

Your duties will include:

n

- Lawn mowing, edging and whipper snipping
n
- Weeding and general garden maintenance
n
- Blowing down and maintaining overall site presentation
n
- Hedging, pruning and plant maintenance
n
- Replanting and replacing plants
n
- Mulching and garden bed rejuvenation
n
- Weed identification and treatment
n
- Pest and weed management
n
- Monitoring plant and turf health
n
- Basic irrigation repairs and adjustments
n
- Monitoring irrigation systems and identifying faults
n
- Reporting irrigation, landscaping and maintenance issues
n
- Identifying additional works that would benefit our clients
n
- Maintaining equipment, vehicles and work areas to a professional standard
n
- Following Higgins Property Services' WHS procedures and safe work practices
n

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

n

A few days each week, you will oversee and work alongside a junior grounds maintenance labourer.

n





This will include allocating tasks, providing direction and on-the-job training, checking completed work and ensuring all sites are serviced efficiently and maintained to the Higgins Property Services standard.

n

We are looking for someone who is happy to lead by example and work alongside their team, rather than simply supervise from the sidelines.

n

HOURS & EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS

n

We can offer flexibility depending on the successful candidate.

n

Casual: $38.00 per hour

n

Full-Time: Salary package available, based on experience and suitability

n

The position will generally offer 35–38 hours per week, with working hours arranged around our client servicing schedule.

n

15% UPSELL COMMISSION

n

In addition to your normal pay, we offer a 15% commission on approved upsold works.

n

We want our supervisor to proactively identify opportunities at our client sites — whether that's replacing plants, rejuvenating garden beds, additional mulching or other grounds improvements.

n

If you identify an opportunity, help us secure the additional work and it qualifies under our commission structure, you earn 15% commission.

n

This provides an excellent opportunity to increase your earnings while helping us continually improve our client sites and grow the Higgins Property Services grounds division.

ABOUT YOU

n

We are looking for someone with:

n

n
- Previous grounds maintenance,



landscaping or horticultural maintenance experience
n
- Experience operating commercial mowing and grounds maintenance equipment
n
- Good knowledge of plants, turf, weeds and general garden maintenance
n
- Basic irrigation knowledge and fault-finding ability
n
- Experience with weed and pest management
n
- The ability to work independently and manage your daily workload
n
- Confidence supervising, training and working alongside a junior employee
n
- Strong attention to detail and presentation
n
- Good communication and customer service skills
n
- A proactive attitude and the ability to identify issues before they become bigger problems
n
- A current Australian driver's licence
n
- A solid commitment to workplace health and safety
n

n

Relevant horticulture, landscaping, chemical application or irrigation qualifications/tickets will be highly regarded.
