Traffic Controllers – CATEGORY 2 (TC2 / TMI2)

Workfast is seeking experienced CATEGORY 2 Traffic Controllers to join our team in Melbourne, VIC.

This is a CATEGORY 2 ONLY position. Candidates must hold the required TC2 and TMI2 qualifications. Qualifications below Category 2 will not be considered for this role.

IMPORTANT: This position is strictly for CATEGORY 2 Traffic Controllers. Candidates holding qualifications below Category 2 will not be considered.

What You Need

- Valid CATEGORY 2 Traffic Control (TC2) qualification - mandatory
- Valid TMI2 / Category 2 Traffic Management qualification - mandatory
- RIIWHS205E - Control traffic with stop/slow bat
- RIIWHS302E - Implement traffic management plans
- Demonstrated experience working as a Category 2 Traffic Controller
- Construction Industry Induction White Card
- Current driver's licence
- Your own two-way radio
- Your own compliant Traffic Control PPE, including VicRoads-approved vest
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods
- Strong communication and verbal skills
- Reliable, punctual and well-presented
- Flexible availability to work day, afternoon and evening shifts
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays
- Willingness to travel to different worksites and event locations
- Ability and willingness to provide copies of all required tickets, qualifications,



licences, identification and other relevant documentation whenever requested by Workfast
- All qualifications, tickets and identification must be current, valid and verifiable

What You'll Be Doing

- Performing all duties associated with Category 2 traffic control and traffic management
- Using Stop/Slow Bat procedures to safely control traffic
- Implementing and monitoring operational Traffic Management Plans
- Setting up, maintaining and removing traffic control signage and equipment
- Loading and unloading vehicles with signage and traffic management equipment
- Completing vehicle pre-start checks
- Travelling to different worksites and event locations
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised worksite
- Using two-way radios to communicate clearly with supervisors and other traffic controllers
- Completing required site documentation and paperwork
- Identifying and reporting hazards, incidents and near misses
- Following directions from team leaders, foremen, inspectors and auditors
- Maintaining a solid focus on safety, compliance and traffic management requirements at all times
