We invite suitably qualified teachers to apply for the following position:

TEACHER (Literacy Coach - English/HSIE)

- Position Type: Full time temporary
- Hours / FTE: 0.8 FTE Literacy; 0.2 FTE Teaching
- Commencement date: 28 January 2027
- Term of Appointment: Term 1 2027, until end of the 2029 school year

This is a 3 year appointment. A right of return will be negotiated for an internal appointment.

The Literacy Coach, as a member of the Learning Team-oriented Team, plays a vital role in supporting the success of all teachers and students in secondary schools.

The primary leadership activities for this position focus on the implementation of a school-wide high-impact assessment and instruction priority that integrates literacy across the curriculum.

Literacy Coaches support staff in the delivery of assessment-based instruction that is intentionally differentiated to meet the strengths, needs and interests of each student across all curriculum areas with a focus on Stage 4.

- All teachers can teach to high standards given the right conditions and assistance
- High expectations and early and on-going intervention are essential
- Teachers need to be able to articulate what they do and why they teach the way they do.
- demonstrates exemplary instructional practice.
- understands and demonstrates “Curriculum Design” planning.
- uses assessment information to differentiate instruction to effectively support the strengths, needs, and interests of students.
- embeds literacy strategies including digital literacy into their subject area.
- uses a coaching model to support others’ learning.
