Great opportunity for a driven Grade 2 Dietitian with experience and passion for haematology and oncology

Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week including ADO

Available from Monday 9 November 2026

Primary work allocation includes cancer services (inpatient and outpatient) with focus on haematology (includes stem cell transplantation), radiation oncology and day oncology

Main location is Austin Hospital in Heidelberg

Pay range as perAJ1-AJ4 classification $47.81 – $54.10 per hour+ salary packaging + super + higher qualification allowance if applicable

About the Nutrition and Dietetics Department

Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and statewide. The Nutrition and Dietetics Department is part of the Allied Health division, which employs over 1,000 health professionals across 27 disciplines, broadly known as the therapies and sciences, who work as key members of the multidisciplinary team aiming to provide the best outcomes for patients via preventing, diagnosing and treating a range of healthcare conditions.

Our department has around 55 staff members across three sites - Austin (acute care), Repat (sub-acute care) and Talbot (rehabilitation), providing services to inpatients, outpatients and home & community programs. We operate as one department and come together for staff meetings and continuing education. Our work environment is vibrant and fast paced and we are a friendly and supportive team.



We have many highly skilled and experienced dietitians who lead our clinical teams - specialist medicine, oncology, surgical/ICU/gastro, paediatrics and mental health, sub-acute and ambulatory care, and portfolios - staff education, quality, research, student training, food service, nutrition support and workforce operations.

About the role

As the Grade 2 Dietitian, you will work as part of the Oncology Stream under the direction of a Senior Clinician stream leader.This stream is highly skilled, hardworking, compassionate and supportive. The stream includes services to haematology,medical oncology, radiotherapy, day oncology and palliative care. With opportunity to be involved in student supervision, staff education and quality & research project work.

Your primary workload allocation will be haematology (including stem cell transplant) and ambulatory cancer services including radiotherapy and day oncology. You will be primarily based on the Austin site but cross campus travel may be required.

Your workload allocation may vary according to operational needs across the stream and the department.

About you

As the Grade 2 Dietitian in the Oncology Stream you will be someone who has a keen interest and experience in cancer care, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.



You’ll bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest indeveloping your skillset.

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

- Sound clinical nutrition knowledge in haematology, radiation oncology and medical oncology across inpatient and ambulatory settings
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective counselling skills and commitment to patient-centredcare
- Demonstratedorganisationalskills, efficient workload management and ability toprioritise
