About the role
As the Service Planning Consultant, you will play a key role in embedding Council's approach to service planning, partnering with Service Managers to strengthen how services are understood, planned, measured and improved. You'll facilitate service planning, provide strategic advice and analysis, and develop the evidence needed to support informed service investment and improvement decisions.
Working across the organisation, you'll maintain service data, use structured investment planning approaches to identify opportunities to optimise services, and support service reviews and fit-for-purpose evaluation approaches so services can demonstrate their outcomes and value over time. Success in this role means giving Service Managers the confidence, tools and evidence to make transparent, well-informed decisions about how services are planned, reviewed and delivered for the community.
This is a full-time permanent position (38 hours per week).
This is a Band 6 role with a salary range between $98,432 and $107,292 per annum, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we’re looking for
- Experience in service planning,
service review or a similar strategic or analytical role.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into insights that support planning and investment decisions.
- Some experience with investment, business case or prioritisation frameworks, or a willingness to build this skill.
- An understanding of service review or evaluation approaches, or experience in a related area.
- The ability to build effective working relationships and partner confidently with managers and stakeholders.
- Experience facilitating workshops, planning discussions or collaborative problem-solving.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice.
