Waratah-Wynyard Council have an exciting opportunity available for a Parks & Reserves Employee to support our growing municipality.
Do you enjoy working outdoors and making a visible difference in your community? Waratah-Wynyard Council is seeking a motivated and hands-on Parks & Reserves Employee to help keep our beautiful region looking its best!
As part of our dedicated Parks & Reserves team, you’ll contribute to the maintenance and enhancement to the waratah, Wynyard municipality. This is a practical, outdoors-based role perfect for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a supportive team.
The role is permanent full-time working a 76 hour fortnight with a rostered day off every second Friday.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Qualifications and experience in Horticulture (desirable).
- Current Drivers licence (MR or HR desirable).
- Experience in operating machinery and small equipment.
- Lawn care experience.

Statements addressing Essential Selection Criteria:
1. Qualification and/or robust knowledge in horticulture including knowledge of plant species, maintenance practices used in parks, reserves and cemeteries, and understanding of recreation facility maintenance. *
2. Demonstrated experience in operating/handling small plant and equipment.
3. Ability to operate in a team environment and supporting the team in a positive manner. *
4. Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to respectfully engage with others. *
5. Well-developed time management and daily planning skills with the ability to work to deadlines. *
6. Medium Rigid truck licence or willingness to obtain *
7. Construction Induction White Card and First Aid Certificate *
