- Support customer and business onboarding due diligence, including KYC/KYB checks, risk scoring, and enhanced due diligence for higher-risk clients
- Perform ongoing transaction monitoring, investigate alerts, and elevate suspicious activity according to internal policy
- Conduct sanctions and PEP screening and resolve related alerts
- Support preparation and filing of suspicious activity/transaction reports (SARs/STRs)
- Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day compliance queries across APAC markets
- Support implementation of group compliance policies and procedures locally and regionally
- Assist with regulatory licensing, registration, and notification processes across APAC jurisdictions
- Identify and elevate compliance risks and control gaps to second line and senior management
- Execute first-line risk assessments and controls for onboarding, payments, and financial crime risk
- Maintain accurate records and documentation evidencing compliance activity
- Support remediation of identified issues and track actions through closure
- Contribute to the regional compliance monitoring plan and reporting
- Support delivery of AML and compliance training across the APAC business
- Promote integrity, transparency, and regulatory accountability
- Undertake additional duties as required to ensure smooth departmental operations
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in AML/CTF compliance, including onboarding (KYC/KYB) and transaction monitoring, within payments, e-money, fintech, or another regulated financial services environment
- Working knowledge of AML/CTF and financial crime requirements across APAC markets, including MAS, HKMA/SFC, AUSTRAC, and JFSA requirements
- Practical understanding of sanctions screening, PEP screening, and suspicious activity/transaction reporting processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to apply policy consistently to real cases
- Good judgement in escalating risk and identifying red flags
- Clear written communication skills for case notes, reports, and escalations
- Ability to work across multiple APAC markets and time zones
- Degree in law, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Relevant AML/compliance certifications such as ICA or ACAMS preferred
- High integrity and sound judgement
- Proactive, structured, and detail-oriented
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, scaling fintech environment
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Right to work in the jurisdiction in which the candidate will work
