Environmental Manager - Major Infrastructure Project NE Melbourne
We’re seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join our project team at Yan Yean, supporting one of Victoria’s key infrastructure programs. This role is offered as a 12‑month maternity leave contract with a healthy pipeline of future work offering genuine long‑term potential for high performers.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead all environmental management activities across the project, ensuring compliance, driving proactive environmental performance, and building strong relationships with project leaders and work crews.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide practical, expert advice on environmental requirements, legislation and standards
- Maintain and improve the Project Environmental Management System
- Lead audits, inspections and reporting, ensuring timely close‑out of actions
- Influence and drive proactive environmental culture across site teams and subcontractors
- Coordinate environmental training, awareness programs and capability uplift
- Manage incident investigations, corrective actions and monthly environmental reporting
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related field
- Robust operational experience in environmental management within construction
- Experience investigating and reporting environmental incidents
- Solid understanding of ISO 14001 and risk management principles
- Clear, confident communication skills, written, verbal and in training environments
- Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver outcomes in a dynamic project environment
