Sales Assistant - Harry's Cafe de Wheels

Work directly with the CEO of one of Australia's most iconic food brands.

Harry's Cafe de Wheels has been a Sydney institution for over 90 years - from the front gates of Woolloomooloo naval dockyard to outlets across the globe, with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Sir Elton John and Prince Harry having stopped by for our legendary Tiger Pie.

We're now looking for a Sales Assistant to join our CEO, Daniel, at our Ultimo headquarters and play a hands-on role in growing the business. This isn't a back-office support position - it's a genuine opportunity to learn and contribute across sales, wholesale, franchising, business development, and the AI-powered tools we're increasingly using to drive the brand forward.

What you'll be doing

- Managing incoming wholesale and franchise enquiries by phone and email - you'll be the first point of contact




- Qualifying leads and building a pipeline of prospective wholesale and franchise partners
- Researching and identifying new business opportunities to drive growth
- Supporting the sales process from first enquiry through to handover, including scheduling follow-ups and next steps
- Preparing proposals, quotations and information packs with internal support
- Coordinating product demonstrations, tastings and sample drop-offs
- Maintaining accurate records of leads, customer interactions and sales activity
- Liaising with internal teams to support onboarding of new wholesale and franchise customers
- Providing general administrative support to the sales and franchising functions

What we're looking for

- Strong communication skills with a professional, friendly phone manner - this is the non-negotiable
- Energy, confidence and a genuine commercial drive
- A willingness to learn and grow within the business
- Good organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities calmly and accurately
- Digitally savvy - comfortable with tools like Google Suite, Excel, and AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT); Xero knowledge a plus
- Interest in sales, wholesale and franchising
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Experience in sales, customer service or admin is a plus, but we're open to candidates early in their career who have the right attitude
