Jacaranda Finance is entering an exciting new phase of growth and we're looking for an exceptional risk and legal leader to help shape what comes next.

This is a newly created role with genuine influence. Reporting directly to the CEO and joining our Leadership Team, you'll own Jacaranda's end-to-end risk environment, act as our senior internal legal adviser and lead our Risk, Legal & Compliance function.

We're looking for someone who sees risk as an enabler, not simply a control function. You'll balance regulatory obligations, customer outcomes and commercial opportunity while helping a fast-moving, founder-led fintech scale responsibly.

The prospect

This is a hands-on leadership role, not a passive oversight position.

You'll work closely with leaders across Lending, Credit, Growth, Technology, Collections, Hardship and Customer Operations, turning complex regulation into practical action and finding responsible ways for the business to move forward.

You'll be responsible for:

- Leading our enterprise risk, compliance and governance frameworks.
- Acting as Jacaranda's senior internal legal adviser.
- Ensuring compliance with the NCCP Act, National Credit Code and ASIC regulatory requirements.
- Advising on responsible lending, Australian Credit Licence obligations, hardship, collections, complaints, AFCA matters, breaches and remediation.
- Leading regulatory engagement, audits and information requests.
- Assessing the risk and legal implications of new products, data uses and credit strategies.
- Overseeing significant incidents, reportable situations, customer remediation and material disputes.
- Leading and developing the Risk, Legal & Compliance team.
- Managing external legal advisers strategically and cost-effectively.
- Building practical, scalable frameworks that support Jacaranda's continued growth.

What you'll bring

- At least six years' post-admission legal experience.
- Substantial experience in Australian consumer lending, consumer credit,



fintech or regulated financial services.
- Strong knowledge of the NCCP Act, National Credit Code and ASIC's expectations.
- Experience advising on responsible lending, ACL obligations, hardship, collections, complaints, breaches and remediation.
- Senior leadership experience, including leading legal and/or compliance teams.
- Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to make decisions when the answer is not black and white.
- A practical, hands-on approach and an enabler mindset.
- The ability to communicate complex legal and regulatory matters clearly.

We're a predominantly in-office business because we believe collaboration, coaching and problem-solving happen best when we work side by side. During probation, you'll work from our Milton office five days per week. Following successful completion of probation, you'll have the flexibility to work from home one day per week.
