The Y Northern Territory is looking for a dynamic, commercially-minded leader to join our Executive Leadership team as Head of Aquatics, Recreation and Youth.
This is a pivotal role, accountable for the strategic, commercial and operational leadership of our Aquatics, Recreation and Youth Services portfolios — spanning Recreation Centers, Aquatic facilities, Youth Programs and the Remote Pools program across the Territory. You'll shape long-term vision, drive financial sustainability, lead grant and funding strategy for youth services, and build solid partnerships with government, schools and community organisations — all while championing a safety-first, people-first culture.
What you'll bring:
- 10+ years senior leadership experience in a commercial environment, with a track record of driving operational and financial performance
- Experience leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams to a high-performing, inclusive culture
- Skills in contract management, negotiation and tendering
- A demonstrated commitment to program development and community impact for children and young people
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business/Operations Management, Sport/Recreation Management, Education, Social Work, Community Development or related field
- Willingness to travel across NT sites
What's required:
- Valid Working with Children Clearance
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check
- Current Driver's Licence
- Completion of Y Safeguarding Children Training
Based at Darwin Head Office, Katherine or Alice Springs, with regular travel to sites across the NT, this role reports directly to the CEO and sits at the heart of the Y's mission to support Territorians to be connected, educated, resilient and healthy.
5 Weeks Annual Leave.
Not for profit salary packaging (up to $15,900 tax free/FBT Exempt + $2650 meals and entertainment).
