About The Role
As the Deputy Program Manager Acute Intervention Services, you will play a key leadership role in supporting the Program Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across Acute Intervention Services (AIS).
Working within a recovery-oriented framework, you will help ensure services are high quality, innovative, evidence-based and responsive to the needs of consumers and the community. You will provide leadership, mentoring and support to the AIS Leadership Team, while contributing to the effective operational and clinical management of the service.
You will lead specific portfolios and strategic initiatives as delegated by the Program Manager, which may include supporting bed coordination activities and driving quality improvement across AIS. Working closely with the Deputy Program Medical Director, you will contribute to service development, clinical governance and the ongoing improvement of MHDAS Acute Intervention Services.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the delivery and future direction of acute mental health services at Barwon Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic clinical leadership to ensure high-quality, evidence-based and recovery-oriented care that is responsive to consumers, families and carers, while supporting delivery of MHDAS models of care,
service frameworks and KPIs
- Support effective leadership and operational management across Acute Intervention Services, including mentoring managers, contributing to strategic and business planning, workforce and resource management, and acting as Deputy to the Program Manager as required
- Drive quality, safety and continuous improvement, including monitoring clinical standards and performance data, supporting accreditation and audits, managing consumer feedback and RiskMan processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies, legislation and OH&S; requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant health qualification and professional registration, with a clinical mental health background and current Victorian Driver Licence
- Significant leadership and operational management experience in a complex health environment, with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage staff and effectively navigate conflict
- Strong communication, decision-making and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, build effective relationships and deliver evidence-based outcomes
