This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 4, 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency

Newman Senior High School (SHS) is located at the heart of a vibrant, multicultural and highly connected Pilbara community. Newman offers the benefits of regional living within a welcoming community that is strongly supported by local organisations, industry and community groups. There is always something to be part of, with a wide range of community events, sporting opportunities and social activities throughout the year. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the Pilbara offers exceptional opportunities for camping, four-wheel driving and exploring the region, while those who prefer quieter pursuits will also find active arts, crafts and community groups. It is a place where people can quickly build connections, become involved and feel part of the community.

At Newman SHS, you will join a committed team that is already achieving positive outcomes for students. Our priority is to sustain this success and continue to improve student achievement, engagement and pathways. The school is well resourced and has robust foundations, including the NEWMANWAY for Quality Teaching, an established pastoral care approach and a strategic focus on Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) that connects classroom learning with the opportunities, industries and future pathways available within the Pilbara. These are underpinned by our values of Care and Compassion, Respect and Responsibility, which shape both our teaching and the way we work with students. Established partnerships with families, local industry and community organisations provide valuable opportunities that extend student learning and pathways beyond the classroom.

Newman SHS is entering an exciting phase of growth, with expanding programs and leadership capacity across the school. As we grow, our focus is on strengthening consistency, further embedding key initiatives and ensuring our structures and systems support staff and students to thrive.
